Within ten months, I was successfully able to complete an AP art portfolio overcoming many obstacles and difficulties. It was a very long process, yet I have shown growth and developments through my artworks. This was my first year being in AP art. When I first started my portfolio, I was constantly changing my idea. My initial idea was to make my concentration about my grandmother since she recently passed around August 2018. After creating an artwork or two on this idea, I was not satisfied with how I delivered the concept behind it. I reflected back on my past creations and a thought came to mind...

In my older artworks from middle school and freshmen year, it was my style to create pieces based upon my feelings whether it would be how I felt at that moment or years ago. My plan was to portray how it feels to first meet someone and how it feels once you've finally know more about them by using portraits. I wasn't experienced with painting faces in general. I was nervous yet excited to see how my style would affect my artwork, thinking about how I was unfulfilled with the one portrait I created in 8th grade. After couple of months,I learned how to create hyper realistic faces with my favorite medium, acrylic. This motivate me to continue creating portraits for my portfolio. Once due date started approaching, I pushed myself to compose and complete artworks quicker from three months per artwork to almost two days per artwork. I was able to complete all 12 artworks in time. I then piece my story together. From the picture below, you are able to see the growth within my portfolio.
