Biography

Alexa Sayer is a growing artist from Grand Prairie, Texas. Born in Santa Barabara, Sayer moved to Grand Prairie at an early age. She became fascinated with art as a child and pursued her passion throughout her school years. She attended the Grand Prairie Fine Arts Academy for the visual art strand in her middle school and high school years.

During her school years, Sayer has accomplished competing in different competitions such as Scholastic Art & Writing, Fort Worth Stock Show, and VASE. This inspired her to develop her own art style including exploring different mediums.

Sayer is best known for her utilization of acrylic and smooth surrealistic type portraits. Her works often accomodate a unique, deepful meaning behind them and balancing out the background with the focus. Though she is recognized for this specific style, Sayer has experimented dry media with an expressionist style, including working with ceramic materials such as clay. Sayer's aesthetic and techniques composes of different stories from her perspective. 

Artist Statement

My work consist of my individuality whether it is emotions, feelings, or my background. I want to able to show my perspective of my own experiences and meaning in life throughout my pieces. I believe things and stories acquire a deeper meaning than what we tend to think they are, so I want to unlock this view to people to grasp this feeling and understanding. In my portfolio, most of my work contain acrylic and variety of cermaic mediums.
